A Giveaway! ~ And a Message to Google Friend Connect Followers

Paris Miniprint Giveaway 1

Google announced last year that as of March 1st 2012 Google Friend Connect will be discontinued for all non-Blogger sites.  Unfortunately that means from later this week all 260+ of you readers who use Google Friend Connect will no longer be able to follow City of Blackbirds this way.  Google want to encourage users to open Google+ pages instead of using the Friend Connect gadget, but honestly I’m not a big fan of G+ and don’t really wish to maintain another social media page for the blog.

I’m hoping that instead you’ll choose to follow this blog either through RSS feed or through the already existing Facebook page :)

So to make the move from Google Friend Connect to Facebook a little nicer for you, I’m having a Facebook giveaway: one reader will win a set of Paris By Lensbaby mini prints!  The set includes six 4″ x 4″ mini prints, all of sweet scenes from The City of Light, shot with my Lensbaby when I was there on honeymoon in 2010.  The giveaway is open to all readers, not just people moving from Google Friend Connect!

To enter all you have to do is like the City of Blackbirds FB page and leave a comment on the giveaway post (I’ll put it up right after this post publishes).  The giveaway will close on Sunday 4th March at 6pm and I’ll post the winner on the Facebook page asap after the closing time.

Good luck!

I’m not so happy with google right now, first this but they are also closing Picnik :(

  4. Lisa-Marie says:

I follow you in my reader, so I am sorted I assume? I had high hopes for G= but it’s too much faff. What ruined it for me is that there is no we counter to tell you if you have new interactions in the tab.

    Lovely prints!
