Last night I got the nice surprise of learning that City of Blackbirds has made it through to the finalists list in the photoblog category of Blog Awards Ireland! I’m delighted to have made it through, and hope to make it to the awards ceremony in a couple of weeks time. Thank you to whatever kind soul it was that nominated the blog :)
The other blogs on the list are all beautiful online spaces that showcase wonderful photography, so make sure to check them out: Wise Words, Foxglove Lane, Allegria Photography, Brian Cooney Photography, and Greig Houghton Photography. I’m honoured to be in such good company!
I’m also delighted to see that some of my favourite Irish blogs, including a couple I nominated, have made it through to their respective shortlists. The ladies behind Blog Awards Ireland, Amanda, Beatrice and Lorna, have had a tough job putting everything together over the last couple of months. They’ve been doing fantastic work, and I’m sure the night will be a success for them as a result. It’s important to bring the community together to celebrate and recognise the amazing people that make up the Irish blogosphere, so much heartfelt thanks to them for making the awards happen.

On a completely unrelated note, the sweet white roses below were a gift from Daniel last weekend. I’d been sick all week, so he brought them home with a cupcake to cheer me up! I had fun playing around with them in Photoshop, and ended up giving them a bit of a vintage look.

Thanks Shane, you’re too kind. I think the competition is tough between the blogs, you never know what will happen on the night! One way or another, I’m looking forward to meeting everyone on the night of the awards, should be good fun :)
